Bad Blogger.....Again!

So, I took a break from blogging. Really, I didn't mean to, but I was busy trying to get as much done as I could last week while I was home...and blogging just wasn't that high on the priority list (now that I'm back at the office, though, I have TONS of time to blog!).

The basement is nearly done....it's as done as it's going to be for the next couple of weeks, anyway. We are still waiting on our cabinets to be fixed (3 doors to replace, and molding to finish, and hardware for one of the hinges so the cabinet door doesn't hit the wall when it's opened), and the paint in the stairwell and main floor has to be redone.

I am still in shock over that one- the painter NOTICED the finish was wrong. He mentioned to Mr. Homeowner that they didn't match. And he continued to paint, instead of STOPPING and getting the RIGHT PAINT and then continuing. And, we have to live with the wrong paint for a month, because "the finish can change as it cures". Um, yeah. Paint cures in DAYS, not WEEKS. The finish is still the same. That 30 day waiting period is a total scam- the homeowners either get used to the way it looks and decide not to change it, OR they love the fact that they no longer have workmen in their house, and don't want to go back to the construction phase, so they decide not to change it.

Yeah, I am not one of those people.

You screwed up my walls (half my main floor, to be exact). You are going to fix it, to my satisfaction, on my schedule, and on your dime. This 30 day waiting period is just giving me time to marinate in my discontent with your overall performance (Cabinet company, take note: I've been marinating in my discontent with you for MONTHS.)

And, just for good measure- we can't hear our doorbell in the new basement, and our home theatre was wired incorrectly, and has to be redone....which may involve ripping out the drywall, taking down the TV, and starting anew.

Awesome.

I'm compiling more Pup photos...so hopefully that will counteract the negativity of this post!
