It's PUPPY TIME!!!!!!!!

It's been a while since I last posted photos of the Pup. She's 12 weeks old (actually, she may be more...I should count that up!), she's had her second set of immunizations (didn't even feel the needle), and is up to TWENTY FIVE POUNDS (she's going to be huge).
She still goes to Puppy Playtime on Thursday evenings, and is definitely starting to hold her own with the other, bigger dogs (pups can come to Playtime until they're 5 months old). Thursdays are our favorite nights, because Pup is so exhausted after playtime that she just sleeps...and sleeps....and sleeps. She's harder to focus on Training Day (Saturday)...she's such a social dog, she just wants to play with the other pups, not train! But, we're working on it.

I went back to work last Monday, so we've been crating Pup. We leave at about 7, I'm home sometime between 10 and 10:30, Mr. Homeowner is home between 1:30 and 2, and then we're home for good at just after 5, so she's never crated for longer than 3 hours. So far, she's been pretty good- she sleeps most of the time we're gone (we take her for walks when we're home), and has some toys, her Kong, and some icecubes in her kennel to keep her busy.

Things have worked out remarkably well for Mr. Homeowner and I at work so far (with the exception of a wee bit of static from my boss-- Grrrrrrrr!), and we were even lucky enough to get a Parking Pass for downtown parking (if you're not from Calgary, you might not understand this....Parking in Downtown Calgary is scarce, and extremely expensive. The cheapest "By the Day" parking is $20 a day, and it can get into the high $30 range, per day, with no In/Out privileges, so if you can't find a spot when you return, you have to switch lots and pay again. Monthly parking passes are rarer than hen's teeth, and there are waiting lists that are YEARS long...I've been on one waiting list since 2006, and have yet to hear anything. So, getting a parking pass, for a covered, reserved spot with a plug in is the equivalent of finding the Holy Grail, or the Fountain of Youth). I take this as a sign from the Universe (yes, I'm THAT person) that we're doing something good for our lives.

And, I would tend to agree. I am already so attached to her, and I love her so much, even though she drives me crazy (Cut to me, at 11:30 pm in the backyard, trying to get her to potty!). I love how she RUNS to greet us when we come home, or even when we just come downstairs from the bedrooms. I love how she parades her toys around in her mouth, and how she always grabs a pair of socks for Mr. Homeowner in the morning. I love how she grabs her food...one piece at a time, and takes it into her mat, and eats it there. And, I love how she walks around with her nose in the air when she can smell what we're cooking and wants to see. I love how she snores like a lumberjack (but maybe that's because I can still sleep through the snoring!), and how she squishes her face against the kennel door when she's sleeping, and how she tries to clean the sleep out of her eyes with her paws (she can't...so we do it for her!). My absolute FAVORITE is when she gets too excited by a toy, and she drops it and SPRINTS around the room, before picking it up the toy again and playing.

I was never sure that I'd be a "Dog Person", but I think it's safe to say that I'm converted. I am SO glad we have her in our family.
She has the toy. She's focused on the hand on the OTHER end of the toy. OM nom nom nom in 3......2.......
Doggy MySpace Photo.
The Pup watching TV. Seriously, she watches the screen and can follow people around. It's amazing watching her develop!
She tried to squeeze through. She failed.
She REALLY likes nibbling on ears, for some reason. We don't know why. Mr. Homeowner keeps telling her that if she does it ONE MORE TIME, he's going to nibble on HER ear to see how she likes it! ;-)

Mr. Homeowner and the Pup.

Yours truly and the Pup. Is it weird that I'm distracted by the image on the TV behind me? What exactly were we watching? Is that what the 70's looked like to most people?

Playing with Mr. Homeowner's Lacrosse Ball in the backyard. She pulls it into her chest and sits on it like she's trying to hatch an egg.

Sniffing the hockey stick that was shooting the lacrosse ball around.

Sitting Pretty. Awwwwwwww!
