Happy Blog-iversary!!!!

One year ago today, I started this blog.

I had hoped that it would bring me fame and fortune a la This Young House. Alas, it brought me neither fame, NOR fortune (although I did get offered $25 if I would publish a propaganda post by some Bedroom Furniture company, and some guy who wrote a book about reno-ing a house in Chicago offered me a free copy if I reviewed it on my blog), but it has offered me an outlet for the minutiae of setting up a house and living through a reno (shockingly, Mr. Homeowner cannot stand hour after hour of me agonizing our backsplash tile choice). I also think it will serve as a keepsake of sorts- even now, I look back at the archives and re-read my posts leading up to our move into the new house, and I remember how excited we were, I can read the excitement in my words. I remember how optimistic we were about the fabulous home we were going to make (we still are optimistic about that, we're just going at it a little differently!), and I especially recall how quickly I assumed this was all going to happen (I laugh at that now. Two weeks to unpack? It took me two MONTHS to get my clothes out of boxes, and we STILL have stuff stacked everywhere!)

So, here's to the last year of posting....and here's to looking forward to the NEXT year of posting!
