Today, Mr. Homeowner took her to the vet- luckily there's no sliver (I'm sure she enjoyed the vet's hand down her throat), but she has KENNEL COUGH!! The vet is not at all concerned, he didn't even prescribe anything for it (he said she's young and healthy and has a strong immune system, so she doesn't need it). He assumes that she was exposed at Puppy Playtime or Training, and that with rest and water she'll fight it off on her own (and the fact that she's been vaccinated against it will prevent it from getting worse...the case is so mild it didn't even activate her antibodies, says the Vet). If her coughing doesn't get better by the end of the week, we'll go back for a cough-suppressant spray, just to help her sleep at night (right now, she hacks so hard she wakes everyone up!).
This past weekend we were in Canmore, and we took her to the offleash park there. Pup had so much fun chasing after all the bigger puppies, and she played with a Rottweiler cross named Gotti (yes, after the Teflon Don, I asked!). They were so cute- he'd get a stick and put it on the ground to get Pup interested, then pull it away as soon as she got close to make her chase him. It was a blast watching her interact with other dogs...despite the fact that it was about 20 degrees below zero!
Some photos of Pup, who is now THIRTY EIGHT POUNDS.....yup, she's 4 months old. I think she's like a canine Wolverine (from the X-Men)...except her skeleton is made of lead.
Pup, falling asleep while chewing Mr. Homeowner's shoes.
Pup sleeping...I think she looks like she's trying to clear a hurdle!
Sitting pretty.
I love how shiny her coat is! She's so pretty!
