I emailed Eiffel today and told them that we would accept the cabinetry. It's finished, everything matches, and it's GOOD, it's just not PERFECT...and after 3 months of delays, I expected PERFECT. But in all honesty, the thought of ripping the cabinets out and having the finishing carpenter rebuild them (which is what I threatened the LAST time the cabinet guys screwed up) is too exhausting to contemplate at the moment, AND we'd have to wait for him to finish whatever other job he's doing at the moment, AND it would just be another cost charged to the cabinet suppliers that they are not going to cover. The cabinets are done, they look fine, and we can FINALLY take our key back....well, we can, as soon as we sign off on the final walkthrough.
I have to admit, I thought I'd be more excited about this day. I think it's just been dragging on for too long (the prep for the reno, the reno, the reno going over deadline, and all the issues with the cabinets), and I'm exhausted and just ready to have our house to OURSELVES again. For good.
I will post a vendor review as soon as we've signed off...just in case we still need something from someone. ;-) Never fear, vendors, most of you will fare fine!
