Where Does The Day Go?

I do not know where the day goes.

I think back to the fall, and I feel like I was getting a lot done.  I look back at my blog postings and I KNOW I was getting a lot done.  Yoga, Andrew to work, Dog walk, Dishes, Shower, Hair, Makeup, Breakfast, Newspaper and Email checked, all before 10.  Errands were being done, the dog was being walked twice a day, the house was clean and tidy.  I was within striking distance of actually starting work on my "Once This List Is Done, The House Is Organized And Decorated And Totally Finished" List.

Now, Yoga, Andrew to Work, Dog Walk, Shower, Hair and Makeup are lucky to happen before noon.  I eat breakfast and check my email and suddenly it's 2 pm.  Dishes and some laundry and it's time to prep dinner.  Most days since Christmas I haven't even made the bed.  Laundry sits for days, shoved into laundry baskets (or left in the washing machine....um, oops!).  Dishes pile on the counters.  The Christmas tree stands in the corner, fully decorated.  Boxes and baubles litter the main floor, from my various attempts to pack decorations away and get them into storage.  Tumblefurs the size of guinea pigs roll across the hardwood and half the groceries sit on the floor, waiting to be unpacked.  Currently, I'm not even close to having a home I could entertain in, let alone getting started on the "Once This List Is Done...." list.

I don't understand what's happening.  I'm (relatively) well rested.  I'm getting up early, so I can get a good start on the day.  I have to do lists, and plans, and strategies, and I'm STILL not getting anything accomplished.  I'm getting that "Let's just move and start over" feeling again.  Which is much more expensive than just CLEANING THE HOUSE.

Maybe tomorrow will be better.....?
